Whenever I see pictures like this, I wonder if anyone actually cooks in the kitchen. How do you keep your artwork clean? Kitchen surfaces get greasy and dirty. I guess it helps if you have a maid!

for cooking, move what you don't want to get splattered..i'm always rearranging .
we cook in this kitchen! no maid.

Another strategy: splatter screens, which shield your stovetop and surrounding areas when you saute on an open flame. Williams-Sonoma carries them:
