Antiques & Vintage: Wright 20
March 2nd, 2008
From Julie:
One of the challenges of sourcing vintage furniture is locating pairs or suites of chairs. Chicago-based vintage dealer Wright Now, curated by Thomas Leinberger, offers a fine selection of midcentury seating, many in multiples. Some examples below.
Below: Walnut, enameled steel, and rubber chairs from Finnish designer Tapio Wirkkala for Helsinki company Asko Oy; $1,100 at Wright 20:
Below: Set of eight Hans Wegner wishbone chairs in lacquered wood and rope from Carl Hansen & Son c. 1950; $5,500 at Wright 20.
Below: Pair of George Nelson walnut settees; $3,250 at Wright 20.
Below: Arne Jacobsen 1952 Ant dining set in teak, matte-chrome plated steel, $8,000 at Wright 20.
Below: Pair of 1950 Pierre Jeanneret Scissor chairs of birch, upholstery, and canvas strapping; $4,500 at Wright 20.

These are some pretty nice items, but I dont think I would pay this much for them. Sometimes you can find good vintage items and more and local yardsales or rummage shops. Just my 2 cents.
