10 Easy Pieces: Kitchen Faucets

December 23rd, 2007

From Julie and Janet:

Kitchen faucets: good ones are like sculpture for the kitchen; bad ones are enough to induce a deep depression. Worth investing in; scrimp somewhere else. You can’t go wrong with these picks. The Arne Jacobsen–designed Vola is the ultimate modernist classic; the Chicago is a personal favorite (well priced, well engineered, with a great industrial-chic aesthetic).

Love the website. Thank you, Yunak k. for sending. About these faucets, though, a separate spray faucet is very inefficient on all but the newest plumbing systems, and to waste water with these spigots is unconscionable. Am I wrong, missing something?

KWC makes a wonderful streamlined modern faucet with a pull out handle. The pull out part is built in in such a way that you do not notice it is a separate piece, but its very practical. Its the same faucet used in many Boffi kitchens, but online its a fraction of that price. http://store.irawoodinc.com/kwcsukifa.html
