Children’s Rooms: Bed Cupboard

December 9th, 2007

From Julie:

These beds from Netherlands-based Kids Factory remind me of illustrations from Swedish illustrator Carl Larsson’s picture books. I’ve never seen a similar child’s bed available in the US; you will need to work with a carpenter to recreate this vision of coziness. Go to kidsfactory.nl to view more:

I love these beds. We design built-ins for almost every project, but we never designed a bed. We’ll need to be on the look-out for a client with young kids. Thanks for the inspiration.

We visited KidsFactory in the Netherlands just recently — it is an amazing place (we spent 5 hours there, as we could not drag our daughter out, and they have a café…). There needs to be one in North America (hint, hint).
