Furniture: Chesterfield Sofa

November 7th, 2007

From Sarah:

This past summer, on my annual trip back to the UK, I noted a profusion of plush, grand Chippendale and Chesterfield sofas in fashionable venues. Seems the tufted sofa trend is crossing the pond. Note the ornate carved sofa featured in the otherwise minimalist interiors in the Architect Visit post below. And last week, the NY Times wrote about the proliferation of gentleman’s club style in NYC; here in San Francisco, the newly opened restaurant Fish and Farm, designed by Sheri Sheridan of Swallowtail, features a wraparound Chesterfield banquette.
