From Janet:
We admit to a weakness for traditional utilitarian faucets for the kitchen or the bath; these ten would work equally well in either venue.

Below: Watermark Wall-Mount Bridge Faucet; $495 from Faucet Supply.

I love these.
Here’s a tip: go to your local restaurant supply store. They have tons upon tons of industrial-look faucets, because they are truly industrial-use. I’ve found some gems well under $150, as well as those springy-hose-sprayer things that are super-awesome for dirty places.

Beautiful photos. Most, I noticed, were chrome-plating. These days, brushed nickel seems to be more popular as it tends to hide blemishes and stains better than chrome. There are now some great choices in brands. Everyone knows that Delta is huge in this market, which is nice because you’ll always be able to find replacement parts. If you’ve got the budget, you should also check out Danze which is a high-end brand that competes against such premium brands as Kohler. Also, Pegasus is a great “sleeper” brand that you can find at Home Depot. They’re made in China and Italy by private manufacturers and the quality tends to be quite high.
