Remodelista Reconnaissance: A Striped, Embroidered Blanket in a French Getaway

How is it that the French do simplicity so well? See: striped mariner shirts, the French bob, and the red lip. And add to the list: the interiors at Rendez-Vous Sur la Côte, a getaway in Brittany. I spent the better part of last week trying to track down one particular detail: a cream throw blanket with a blue stripe and embroidered initials that, from the looks of it, would be just the right weight for an afternoon nap. Reader, I couldn’t find an exact match, but I did go down a rabbit hole. Join me, here, if you’d like to go down a rabbit hole of your own:

There are many cream throws with blue stripes to be had out there (see: here, here, and here). But searching for lookalikes led me to discover that this throw also resembles a vintage European linen grain sack: a pleasing weight, simply striped, with monogrammed initials or designs. It turns out many of these antique textiles can be found on the interwebs, either in their original form or transformed into pillows, throws, and tablecloths.
