On the Market: A Remodelista’s Seaside Connecticut Retreat

October 4, 2020

This just in from our London correspondent Christine Chang Hanway:

“This summer we decided to sell our family home by the seaside, on the Old Black Point peninsula in Connecticut. It wasn’t an easy decision, but with our adult sons both working full time in London, we realized we had reached the end of an era. Extended summer breaks, the ones that seem to last forever, are no longer a given for them.

“The house now needs to go to a family who can use it better; use it more. (The only thing that makes the decision easier is that my husband and I hope to finally realize a dream that we have had since meeting at architecture school; designing a new house from ground up.) As I worked with the realtor to put the listing together, I couldn’t help but think that there was nowhere to tell the house’s real story. Where could I tell prospective buyers about the things that make this house special? Read on for more.”

Here’s a glimpse of the house (photos by Christine Chang Hanway); for the full listing, go to Re/Max.
