Lotta and Henry Imberg, the husband/wife team behind Imberg Arkitekter, turned a garage for tanks and military vehicles into a summer home overlooking the sea on Furillen, an island off the northeast coast of Gotland. With open sea breezes, ceiling fans need not apply.

Above: The only color in the architecture speaks of sky and sea.

Above: While the rough concrete floors and walls of the garage remain, the architects created a concrete wainscot by applying plywood panels above.
