The Rose, a new hotel in the seaside town of Deal in East Kent, England, we’ve been thinking of the boldly colorful rooms and baths designed by Harding & Read and stylist Michelle Kelly. The retro-looking bath in Room Seven, a botanical-inspired guest room, particularly caught our attention with its vintage mint green fixtures and French wicker furniture. We were compelled to research it further and here are the sources we’ve unearthed.
Above: The bath on the top floor of The Rose has white-painted wood paneling and square tile. (For more on paneling, see our post Remodeling 101: The Ultimate Wood Paneling Guide with Jersey Ice Cream Co.) Above: Kelly, along with Harding & Read, sourced furniture for The Rose from eBay and a host of local antique dealers in Deal. Above: A nice tonal dose of mint and olive green from the guest room walls to the bath fixtures. Materials Above: For a cool white similar to the one in the bath here, look to Little Greene’s Loft White. Above: The bathroom floors throughout The Rose are designed with waterproof woven vinyl from Unnatural Flooring; shown here is the Sorrel Vinyl. Contact Unnatural Flooring for more information.
Faucets & Fixtures Above: For the baths at The Rose, the designers sourced and restored colorful vintage sanitary ware like the mint green pedestal sink and toilet. For a similar off-the-shelf option, The Water Monopoly in the UK makes the Rockwell Basin on a Pedestal in white and three colors, including Willow, a sage-mint green; £915 at the Water Monopoly. For more on the company, see our post Retro Bath Fixtures in Retro Colors from the Water Monopoly. Above: If you have access to a good salvage yard or supplier, pair taps like the Perrin & Rowe Pair of Basin Pillar Taps with Crossheads with a vintage mint green pedestal sink. The taps are available from the English Tapware Co.; contact them for pricing and ordering information. Above: Also within the Water Monopoly’s Rockwell collection is the Rockwell Lavatory with Concealed Cistern, available in colors such as Sherbet (shown) and Willow Green; £1,695 at the Water Monopoly.
