Lighting Report: The Akoya Pendant from Rich Brilliant Willing

April 19, 2018

Spotted (and admired) recently: the Akoya collection from Rich Brilliant Willing, a Brooklyn-based studio that specializes in LED lights. “Akoya’s perforated shade shell proudly reveals a glass pearl bulb,” the designers say, and they suggest hanging them solo or, for dramatic effect, in little clusters (as seen above at a Cooper Hewitt garden party). Here’s a look at the sizes and colors available, from saturated blues and ochres to pale bone.

Above: The Akoya pendant light has a hand-blown opal glass diffuser and a perforated metal shade and is available in four colors. Shown here: The smallest size, the Akoya 14 in Silk Grey, measures 14 inches across by nine inches high.
