Last month we took a look into the
Victorian cottage of Krissy O’Shea in Somerville, MA. The project is a clear blend of high and low decisions: custom cabinetry and Farrow & Ball paint offset by keeping old kitchen cabinets and vintage furniture. Admiring the kitchen, we decided to dissect the key elements of the space.

Paint Above: The living spaces and kitchen walls are painted in Benjamin Moore Super White (OC-152). The color is included in our stories 10 Easy Pieces: Architects’ White Paint Picks and Architects’ 8 Favorite Pure White Paints. Above: The lower kitchen cabinets are painted with Benjamin Moore Raccoon Fur (2126-20). Above: The custom kitchen island, complete with matching Carrara marble top, is painted in the lighter Benjamin Moore Gray Timber Wolf (2126-50). Tile & Lighting Above: Inspired by a photo of an old Victorian kitchen, the owners opted for penny tile in white with dark grout. For something similar the Fireclay Tile White Wash Hexagon is $45 per square foot at Fireclay. Above: The Verner Panton Flowerpot VP7 Pendant Light in Glossy White is $723 to $838 at YLighting. Faucets & Fixtures Above: The owners bought their Perrin & Rowe Holborn Bridge Kitchen Faucet while on a trip to London. The faucet is available through Perrin & Rowe directly. Above: The ZLINE Farmhouse Single Bowl Sink with Bottom Grid is similar to the vintage one the owners sourced. Appliances Above: The Samsung Flex Duo Gas Range Stainless Steel is $2,788 at The Home Depot. Hardware & Accessories Above: The cabinet hardware is the Rejuvenation Large Massey Drawer Pull; $60 each. Above: The Lascaux Vintage Moroccan Rug is $1,320 at Apartment F. Above: The John Julian Porcelain Mixing Bowls seen on the countertop start at $100 for the smallest size at MARCH. Above: The Blackcreek Mercantile & Trading Co. Blackline Cutting Boards start at $200 each from MARCH. Above: Designed by Makoto Koizumi for Kaico, the classic Kaico Kettle is $75.15 at Henla.
