We’ve been following TRNK, the online housewares shop from Tariq Dixon and Nick Nemechek, for a while now. So when we heard of TRNK’s new furniture line (and recent installation at Platform LA in Culver City), we thought to share the news. Dixon and Nemechek started TRNK in 2013 with a collection of their own favorite products: Scandi lighting, whiskey decanters, bookshelves, sheepskins, and more. Following suit from brands such as The Line (see The Apartment by The Line) and the Future Perfect (see Casa Perfect), TRNK set up a temporary retail concept called The Guesthouse. Although the pop-up is now closed, the new designs are available at TRNK online. Here’s a look.
Above: A trio of new TRNK designs: the Arc Chair in sienna velvet (left), Truss Apartment Sofa in buff leather, and Angle Chair in ultramarine. Above: Los Angeles—made Case Study Planters from Modernica in walnut and ash bases. Above: The Angle Chair, shown again in ultramarine, was designed to accommodate small spaces (Dixon lives in one himself, in Brooklyn, New York). The chair is customizable in a range of fabric types and is made to order in the US. The shelves above are gray Powder-Coated Metal & Oak Shelves and the table is a Marble Plinth Table. Above: The Arc Chair, similar in scale to the Angle Chair design above but with a curved shape, is shown in twine velvet. The shelves are black Powder-Coated Metal & Oak Shelves and the light is the IC Floor Lamp by Michael Anastassiades. Above: Dixon (at left) sits on the TRNK-designed Truss Sofa in ivory (it’s one of our picks for the 10 best “First Sofas” Under $3,000). Above: The Angle Chair Envy this time in bright green performance fabric by Maharam. To the right of the chair is one of the three Iron Cluster Tables in a set. Above: A floral arrangement by Felisa Funes of Of the Flowers in Los Angeles sits on a burl wood side table.
