Architect Visit: Y House by NOW Architecture in Helsinki

July 23, 2010

Helsinki-based architect, theorist, and musician (he’s a proponent of Finnish electronica) Tuomas Toivonen founded NOW for Architecture and Urbanism in 2005 with visual artist Nene Tsuboi; the firm has worked on projects for the Finnish National Gallery, the Iittala Group, and Artek, among other notable clients. Their mission is “to make the world more interesting and enjoyable”; we especially like NOW’s recently completed Y house in the archipelago. N.B. Toivonen and Tsuboi are members of Newly Drawn: Emerging Finnish Architects, a group of forward-looking architects; their work is featured in the recently published Newly Drawn: Emerging Finnish Architects ($36.39 at Amazon).
