The range hood is an essential: It removes odors, heat, and grease from your kitchen. Lately we’ve been admiring low-profile vents (especially those that can be concealed under a kitchen cabinet that hovers over your stove).
Most of the styles we show here are convertible: They can be either vented—that is, attached to a vent or duct that sends the air outdoors—or unvented, by adding a recirculation option with charcoal filters that clean the air. (See more in

Above: The Bertazzoni Professional Series 2-Motor Range Hood is $1,824 at US Appliance for the 36-inch model. The hood can be mounted under a cabinet or on the wall and has two three-speed motors for plenty of air-cleaning power. Stainless steel only.
