hi! i love east asian calligraphy, and as someone of chinese ancestry i really do appreciate the feature. however i find this post strange for lack of commentary on the rich history and meaning of such calligraphy used as decor. as with other design blogs, i'm both excited by the attention to cultural inspirations in modern design, and at the same time somewhat repulsed by the aesthetic-only treatment of such inspirations without context of the SOUL behind such inspirations.
Nice. I am studying sinology (china studies) and currently studying in China so I would love to see more Chinese (or also other Asian) interiors- do you know any good ressources for that? Thank you very much!
