Urban Hedge
From Sarah:
On a recent trip to Colorado, I visited the Daniel Libeskind addition to the Denver Art Museum. I took an immediate fancy to some transluscent fencing used on an outdoor patio in the museum. Long, thick grass reeds were housed inside a clear resin-like finish, giving an organic, textural feel to what was otherwise a spare, concrete patio.
I went on a search and found 3form, a company that makes eco-resin products that encapsulate textiles and other organic materials. Mainly used in industrial design as walls, room dividers, and doors, the products are for both interior and exterior use.
My own favorites are the simple grass and thatch designs.

From the 3form portfolio: 1. an outdoor bathroom screen, and 2. a building encased in the product.
