Steal This Look: Papabubble-Inspired Kitchen

Margot Guralnick October 25, 2011

Though we're not quite ready to attempt our own boiled sugar concoctions, we’re longstanding fans of Papabubble's low-budget laboratory chic (see our previous post: Shopper's Diary: Papabubble in New York), which can easily be translated to the home kitchen.

Above L: The subtle minty green on the walls is Behr's Herbal Mist from Home Depot. Above R: To achieve a similar noirish ceiling, consider Benjamin Moore's Universal Black.

Above: Ivanhoe Union Warehouse Porcelain Pendant Light; $153 each from Barn Light Electric.

Above: Papabubble's rolling ladder was sourced at Elephant's Trunk Country Flea Market, a seasonal monthly market in New Milford, Connecticut. A sure-bet source for something similar: The Putnam Rolling Ladder Co., a downtown New York institution since 1905. Custom rolling ladders start at $1,137.

Above: Silicone Kitchen Craft Colourworks Spatula; $10 at Amazon.

Above: Create a pegboard storage solution using a pair of 16-by-32-inch stainless steel pegboards; $79.95 from Alligator Board (includes matching stainless mounting screws).

Above: Floating Glass Shelf with metal ledge bracket; $46.99 for a 24-inch-wide shelf at Kitchen Source.

Above: A Pale Green Smeg Refrigerator for $1,999 from AJ Madison.

Above : KitchenAid's Artisan 5-Quart Stand Mixer in mint is $279.95 at Amazon.

Above: WWR Labshop sells 50 ml narrow-mouth glass flasks; $38.15 for a dozen.
