Above: Google “scalloped natural-fiber rug” and you’ll turn up a slew of options, including scalloped rugs trimmed in contrasting color, like the Soft Sea Green Jute Scallop Handmade Rug from Chairish ($149 for the 3-by-5-foot size). Above: But Leanne’s, we discovered via a little Instagram investigating, are from Jaipur, India-based Dhurrie World on Etsy. There’s a wide selection available, but the Natural Scalloped Jute Rug (from $28.80) and Scalloped Jute Runner (from $28.80, shown) are closest.
All of which leads us to wonder: Are scallop-edged rugs the latest iteration in the trend of 21st-Century Scalloping?
