Spotted recently: elegant handmade glassware by Milena Kling, a graduate of the University of Arts in Berlin who has worked with designers like Tom Dixon and brands like Farrow & Ball. Kling’s “feverishly experimental glassware” combines traditional mouth-blowing techniques with original design. All of her one-of-a-kind pieces are handmade by artisans in Berlin and the Czech Republic. Kling has created four main lines of glassware in addition to her special collections; we couldn’t choose just one favorite, so here’s a look at some of our picks.

Above: The straightforward design of the Circle Glass collection aims to create “a feeling of almost holding pure water in your hand.” A set of two is 116 euros; four is 197 euros on Kling’s website. The glasses are also available from March in San Francisco for $75 each.
The Circle Glass is blown in a mold of pleated copper sheets, resulting in its fine linear engravings. Above: the Raw Vases collection includes four sizes (small, medium, large, and extra-large) and 19 colors. They are available in existing combinations or for custom order. Above: The Raw Vases are blown in fine copper sheets, unlike traditional heavy wooden molds. These thin sheets create “delicate tactile patterns on the crystalized surface and a fluid seam where copper and glass unite.” Above: The Raw collection is also available in miniature forms. Prices start at 93 euros for a single or 250 euros for a trio. Above: The Sea Glass collection is “softened by sand to resemble the sensuous, smooth texture of sea glass tumbled and rounded by ocean waves.” Bowls are available in Midnight Black, White, Sea Foam, and Aqua in small, medium, and large sizes. Above: The limited-edition Ruby Bowl is currently available on Kling’s website. To create this piece, glass reacts with copper to “create unique patterns of permanent natural ruby color.” It is available in one size for 490 euros.
