Spotted and admired at West Coast Craft: elemental solid wood furniture from Base 10 in Los Angeles. Here’s the story.
After earning a BA in sculpture, LA-based artisan Joshua Friedman turned his attention to woodworking, apprenticing with Joinery Structures in Oakland, California, where he learned Japanese-style timber framing, finish carpentry, and furniture making. Now, in collaboration with Lindsey Muscato, he produces a minimally detailed line of solid wood furniture, made using traditional hand tools, joinery, and techniques. Here are some favorites from the collection.
