Spotted recently: industrial-style lighting from a manufacturer in a small town near the Northern Irish border. Founded in 2008 in an abandoned shoe factory, Aire Lighting takes inspiration from the fixtures in old pubs and inns and uses only traditional materials such as hand-twisted cables, tarnished metals, and holophane glass—and now counts Google, Guinness, and the Royal Family among its customers. The designs are currently only available via German-based sites
Casa Lumi (for the interior collection) and Terra Lumi (for exterior lights), but we think it might be worth a trip to the Emerald Isle for further investigation. Here’s a look at a few of the designs on offer.
