Napa Style recently began offering a vintage Biergarten Table and Bench Set for $699 (with a $165 shipping surcharge); I bought a similar table with benches last year and was so enamored of its versatility I promptly bought another set. Placed end-to-end, the two tables accommodate sixteen people; however, I usually place them side by side to create a large, rectangular table in the garden. Off-season storage is easy, because the metal legs fold flat.

New versions of the table are available at Authentic Alpine, which stocks Austrian fir wood Biergarten Table and Bench Sets for $499.95 (with free shipping) and at Bier Boot Haus, which offers the Biergarten Folding Wood Table and Bench Set with walnut finished top and green painted metal legs for $499.99. The tables are 88 inches long and 22 inches deep.

These are way too expensive. My dad got a set of these in Germany, used, for $20. Really, I would rather just buy the steel hardware and provide my own wood. Anywhere I could buy just those?
