From Julie & Sarah:
This photo by William Meppem (spotted on Emmas Blogg) reminded us how important good clothes hangers are to the organized life.

The most economical solution is to buy hangers in bulk from Ikea:
Above: Bumerang Clothes Hanger from Ikea; $3.95 for eight.
Above: Erling steel coat hanger from Ikea, $6.99 for five.

Above: Flat Wood Garment Hanger; available in black, white oak, walnut, blonde, and plain sanded; $70 for a box of 50 at Henry Hanger.
Above: For the woodsman: venerable Seattle-based outdoor outfitters Filson makes this high-quality Cedar Hanger (designed to support even the "heaviest outdoor garments and notched for suspenders and shoulder straps"); $9 at Filson.

Above: Maison Rêve in Mill Valley, CA, sells vintage-style hangers made on the East Coast from recycled metal; $10 each.

Above: Antique hangers; £2 each at Baileys Home & Garden.

Above: Blue and white striped linen hanger cover; $18 at French General.

Above: We like this idea from San Francisco–based ElizabethW: Linen hanger covers with either lavender- or cedar-filled pouches; $15 each at Living Green.
