Architect Visit: Kurt Andernach Brooklyn Heights Remodel

From Julie

From Jule:

A while back we admired this appealing Brooklyn Heights brownstone remodel, which ran in New York Magazine. Architect Kurt Andernach combined a parlor floor apartment with a garden apartment to accommodate a couple and their child, gutting the premises to create a clean-lined, loft-like space, while preserving details such as the the original fireplace, which now serves as a niche for a Wolf range.

This is absolutely stunning, what a wonderful renovation. I was curious about the kitchen shelves and sliding "cabinet" doors. May I inquire where the owners/architect sourced these materials? I have a small kitchen and am hoping to save space by using sliding doors, too, but have been having trouble finding anyone who makes doors for kitchen shelves.

Amazing. Love the recess for the range and hood; the pop green is just delicious.

Kurt is an extremely talented, intelligent and artistic architect. This is one more proof of Kurt's outstanding work. I love the simplicity and clean lines and I'm sure the owners love to live in such a stunning and wonderful home.
