From Julie
From Julie, Janet, Sarah & Francesca:
Searching for everyday flatware is like settling on the perfect white sheet; there are hundreds of options, which only makes it more difficult to zero in on the one. Here are our choices:

Above: Sarah, who lived in Japan for a decade, is a fan of Sori Yanagi's Stainless Flatware; a five-piece set is $60 at Tortoise General Store in Los Angeles.

Above: Francesca uses Borromeo from Williams-Sonoma for everyday, $95 for a five-piece place setting.
Above: Another favorite of Francesca's, Classic Cutlery, designed by David Mellor; $88 for the five-piece setting at Didriks.

Above: Janet's everyday favorite is Sasaki Basic Stainless Flatware; $45 for 5-piece place setting at Amazon.

Above: For refined stainless, Janet's choice is Georg Jensen's Copenhagen Steel Cutlery; $120 for a 5-piece box set at Unica Home.

Above: Nuovo Milano Flatware designed by Ettore Scottsass for Alessi; $89 for a five-piece setting at All Modern.

Above: Italian-made Sambonet Linea Q matte stainless steel five-piece place setting; $84 at Rose & Radish.

Above: Julie's favorite is Rondo Cutlery by Portuguese company Cutipol; $75 for a five-piece setting at Horne.

Above: Mirror-finish Pattern 916 Flatware from CB2; $39.95 for a five-piece place setting.

Above: Mono A Flatware; a five-piece set is $178 at Fitzsu Society.

My sister has a mirror finished set and has found that it scratches easily, especially in the dishwasher.
We went with CB2's Party Forks, Spoons and Knives ($9.95 for a set of 6 Party Forks). Well proportioned and clean lined. For about $60, we had a set of 12. It doesn't include coffee spoons or salad forks, but we rarely used those anyway. We also picked up CB2's Mini Cocktail Forks and Spoons to have around.
