Shopper’s Diary: Min Apothecary & Atelier in New York

Julie Carlson November 15, 2011

MiN New York, located on Crosby Street in Soho (the company's name is short for "minute"), got its start as a purveyor of quick hair-color kits for men. These days, the shop caters to gentlemen and gentlewomen alike—offering everything from handmade Plisson shaving brushes to Merkur Solingen razors—as well as a small selection of "curiosities and antiques" for the home, including handmade mesh bird cages and limited-edition furniture from London-based designer Soojin Kang. For more information, visit MiN New York.

Above: MiN's interior features a vintage-eclectic vibe, with exposed brick walls, dentil molding, and leather Chesterfield couches.

Above: Kang describes her Patch Chair, covered in suede patchwork, as "inspired by traditional crafts and antique raw materials"; $2,500 at MiN.

Above: An interior wall is covered in black wallpaper.

Above: A handmade Wire Mesh Bird Cage ($650) hangs above a selection of candles from Cire Trudon.
