Amber Lewis doesn’t have to work particularly hard to nail the whole California casual-cool vibe. A native of Malibu, the aesthetic is practically coded in her DNA—not to mention, since launching her namesake interior design firm, Amber Interiors, in 2013, she’s been handily helping clients achieve the same easy, beachy style in their own homes.
We’ve recently been admiring Amber’s Made by Shoppe furniture line, which encapsulates her affinity for effortless style and natural materials. (The four-year-old line is sold via her Shoppe website as well as at her two brick and mortar stores in Calabasas and Pacific Palisades.) “Every piece is handmade in Los Angeles and never mass-produced. We work closely with the hands that build each piece in our collection and it’s a true labor of love,” she tells us.
The line was borne out of Amber’s frustration with the limited options on the market that fit her aesthetic and her clients’ specific needs. “I knew exactly what I wanted to create, which was furniture that was beautiful and meant to be lived in. I didn’t want to make something so precious that people were too afraid to sit on it, so I decided to design my own line that was all of those things,” she shares.
