A few months ago we discovered new New York City–based brand In Common With, with well-priced lighting in pared-back designs (see: A New Collection of Customizable Lighting). Now I’m intrigued by their latest collection, Arundel, in collaboration with online housewares retailer TRNK—and not only because it’s named for a small town in Maine. Take a look.
N.B.: All of the lights in the collection are currently available for pre-order; they’ll ship in November.
Above: The Arundel series is a collection of five lights, all in black, with sculptural silhouettes that feel both fresh and timeless. Case in point: the Arundel Floor Lamp ($785), which has a burnished black finish as well as dimming capabilities. Above: The Arundel Table Lamp ($445) has a “domed, hand-spun metal shade” in the style we’re noticing all over these days. Above: Another variation: The Arundel Up Light ($545) has a steel base and a white glass diffuser. It “layers well with other fixtures in a room or makes a sculptural statement on its own,” the company notes. Above: Lastly, the Arundel Pendant ($445) is available for hardwiring or plug-in capabilities and is “composed of two steel forms elegantly strung together by a sculptural black cord.”
