Hotels & Lodging: Olde Bell Inn in England

Julie Carlson December 25, 2009

When British interiors sensation Ilse Crawford was called on to revamp the interiors of the Olde Bell Inn, an Elizabethan-era coaching inn located in the Berkshire village of Hurley, she sourced most of the furnishings and accoutrements from her countrymen: handwoven rush matting from Felicity Irons’ Rush Matters, furniture from Matthew Hilton, rocking chairs from Ercol, and lighting from Bestlite (she added a dash of red to the neutral color scheme with retro-looking Roberts Revival radios). Photography by Lisa Cohen.

See Steal This Look: The Old Bell Inn Dining Room where we show you how to put the dining room together. The Olde Bell Inn’s lesser known sister property also gets the Ilse Crawford touch in Hotels & Loding: The Crown in Amersham, England.
