We love the work (and workmanship) of Pinch Design in London; a collaboration between husband and wife team Russell Pinch and Oona Bannon (the former was senior product designer at the Conran Group). Their furniture is both classic and simple with a contemporary overlay that would go well with either "concrete or country," as they say.

Above: Boyd Four-Seat Sofa; available with walnut or oak legs, prices start at £2,785.

Above: Yves Writing Desk, solid walnut desk with leather top and two drawers for £1,975.

Above: Contore Bench, shown with oak legs for £1,325 or with aluminium legs for £1,265.

Above: Clement Coffee Table with oak top, solid walnut legs, and painted shelf; £825.

Above: Joyce Cabinet with sliding glass doors and cherry-lined interior. Available with a painted exterior from £4,656 or with walnut, oak, or cherry exterior from £4,375.

Above: Imo Stool made with solid walnut frame and solid elm top (the stool can be hung from the wall when not in use); £220.
