You write, "...starting with the fact that she used characterful salvaged timber throughout the project and created a seamless indoor/outdoor feel."
Right. And that is truly just a 'start'. This was a magnificent set of photos, indoors and out. From what I can see, there is architectural clarity about movement, material, light, nature, relaxation and restoration - all the qualities one could hope for in summer -- or any other time of year.
What a place. Bravo!
An incredible house! I wish I had the bank to hire Alex Porter.
It was great helping out on that project, all the best Alex!
Congratulations! I couldn't think of any other design that would be more open yet comfortable to live in.
This is my dream house. Both rustic and elegant, it incorporates the softness of the natural landscape and offers humans a peaceful sanctuary from the noisy chaos of everyday urban life. Thanks for thinking BIG!
It's hard to imagine I'm related to someone with such extraordinary talent! I second the comment above -- wish I could hire you!
What a beautiful home. With this much artistic integrity and graceful use of space it must be an "Alex Porter"!
Never seen anything with cleaner lines and yet so inviting.
Love this. What gorgeous photos!
The shelter magazines are going to be cat fighting over who gets to feature this one. Can't wait to see more of Alex Porter's work.
THis is a terrific house. I love all the outdoor furniture and the one blast of majenta out by the pool is great!
Wish I could move in tomorrow!!!
I have the privilege to say from a client stand point that working with Alex is just as much of a joy as the finished products she creates.
i remember when you were just working this all out in your mind - so nice to see it manifest so beautifully - congrats!
The seamless indoor/outdoor feel Alex has designed would work well as a villa for yoga retreats. Particularly if it were located in Negril, Jamaica, W.I. Outstanding work Ms. Porter
Great rugs/carpet in kitchen area- any ideas what type and where they can be purchased? Thanks!
I love the large hammock, the group of bulbs and the slats on the windows, so beautiful and cosy
This house is beyond gorgeous. Love the hanging hammock thing.
