Spotted (and admired) on Dezeen: the AIA Coffee & Restaurant in Porto, featuring a pristine white interior furnished completely in second-hand pieces.
Porto is a medieval city in north Portugal, famous for its ancient stone buildings, its six bridges spanning the Duoro River, and—naturally—its port wine (as a UNESCO World Heritage site, it's one of the oldest European settlements). Amid all this Old World beauty, AIA Cafe offers a modern respite. Designer Inês Aia painted the walls white and let the honey-colored floors and vintage molding shine; she arranged mismatched chairs around humble white tables, and rolled metal carts against the wall for cutlery and condiments.
