Steal This Look: Julianne Moore’s West Village Living Room

Julie Carlson November 03, 2009

Ingrid Abramovitch’s new book, Restoring a House in the City, reminded us how much we like Julianne Moore’s West Village town house, which she renovated with Oliver Freundlich of MADE LLC. A while back we ran a Steal This Look post on her living room; here are some additional ideas for creating a similar, organic modern vibe.

Above: The Thibaut Sofa slipcovered in Belgian linen is $5,800 at South of Market.

Above: Pair of Wall-Mount Anglepoise Chrome Lamps from the 1940s; $2,400 at Metropolis Modern.

Above: Benjamin Moore Aura paint in Pigeon Gray.

Above: Moore’s coffee table is by midcentury master George Nakashima; a less pricey option is Oakland, CA-based OHIO Design’s Natural Table/Bench for $850.

Above: The Chatwin Lounge Chair from Richard Wrightman Design is modeled after the classic British campaign chair; available in canvas or leather; go to Richard Wrightman Design for more information.

Above: Noguchi Akari Lantern; from $105 to $970 for the oversize lantern in Moore’s living room.

Above: Eames Walnut Stools; $829 each at Design Within Reach. Moore stacks hers to create a sculptural pedestal.

Above: Lampe Penelope, by Bleu Nature.

Above L: Bowron Single Pelt New Zealand Wool Throw in brown; on sale at Amazon for $49 (down from $129). Above R: Orion Globe by Replogle; $84.99 at Ultimate Globes.

Above: A giant faux resin Turtle Shell is $995 at Mecox Gardens.

Above L : 20th-century Australian turtle lamp from Antony Todd at 1st Dibs. Above R: A set of five vintage Thai turtle shells is $900 at 1st Dibs.
