One of the best home design shops in Santa Barbara is Upstairs at Pierre Lafond, which has been in operation since 1964 and is part of a mini empire that includes clothing stores and restaurants. Among the offerings: an extensive selection of Matteo linens; handpainted Bulgarian pottery, Chamba black clay cookware from Colombia, and an especially good assortment of Moroccan rugs.
