Kitchen: NatureMill Composter

March 20, 2009

This automatic composting solution from NatureMill appeals to my mania for concealing all garbage-related receptacles. It's also easy to use: vegetables, coffee grounds, etc. can be scraped into the upper chamber, where they are mixed, heated, and aerated. Compost is then transferred to the lower chamber, which needs to be emptied every two weeks or so (a red light alerts you when it is full). For the home, the NatureMill Plus Automatic Composter is $299; the NatureMill Pro Edition model is $399 at Amazon and is suitable for small restaurants and offices. Via Wide Open Spaces.
