Designed in 1958 by Takeshi Nii, the Ny Chair is made in Japan of steel, beech wood, and cotton canvas: it’s comfortable, lightweight, folds for easy storage, and comes in a regular version and a rocking version; $490 at Tortoise Life in Los Angeles (a matching ottoman is $170).
