Design Sleuth: Votive Shelf at Bar Jules in San Francisco

Julie Carlson August 19, 2010

There’s a lot to like about the interior of Bar Jules, located in Hayes Valley and owned by chef Jessica Boncutter, starting with the long narrow shelf holding dozens of votives (in a mix of earthy colors), which give off a flattering light in the evening.

Above: The Paxton Shelf from West Elm is available in 2-, 3-, or 4-foot lengths and in a white or chocolate finish; prices start at $49 for the 2-foot length.

Above: Chunky Glass Candleholder; $4 each at West Elm.

Above: Glassybaby in Seattle offers handblown votives in a wide assortment of colors; each Glassybaby is $40 and measures 3.75 inches tall.
