5 Favorites: Cord-Control Desks, High to Low

September 8, 2017

One of our pet peeves: the snarl of computer cords that seem to be a feature of modern life. Here are five of our favorite desks with built-in cable management solutions, high to low.

hbf studio gorm studio table cable management
Above: HBF partnered with Oregon’s Studio Gorm to create the Studio Rectangular Standing Height Table, which “accommodates technology without dictating function.” It has a storage shelf for chargers, and either holes through which cords can reach an outlet or an actual power outlet embedded in the table. It’s priced starting at $8,800.
blue dot swish console desk 1
Above: The Swish Console Desk from Minneapolis-based Blu Dot has a sliding compartment to contain chargers and desk accessories, plus a cutout hole underneath so cords can reach the power supply. Made of powder-coated steel with a wood veneer top, the desk starts at $699 for the ash/white combination shown here.
eq3 kick desk wood cord management 1
Above: The Kick Desk from EQ3 has two compartments at back with lift-up lids to hide powder cords and chargers. Available in ash (shown) or white, the desk is $649.
cb2 chamber desk cord control 1
Above: CB2’s Chamber Desk has an oak wood base with high-gloss white lacquer top that opens completely for storing laptops, chargers, and power cords, with cutouts underneath to connect the charge; $499.
ikea alex white desk cord management
Above: A single long compartment at the back of Ikea’s Alex Desk keeps cords corralled; they extend through a slot on the surface to reach a power outlet; $129 in gray or white.
