Earlier this year we identified the ceramic tray as one of the 18 Design Trends for 2018. The wide, circular ceramic tray with high edges makes a great container for tabletop veg or a collection of candles, or a hyper-elegant caddy for kitchen ingredients. Here are our current favorites.
Above: From French ceramicist Ariane Prin of Prin London, the Rust Medium Tray 113 is made by mixing metal particles and oxidizing over months to get the finished effect. The tray, measuring 11.6 inches in diameter, is $635 at the Future Perfect. For more from Ariane, see our post Metallica: Artful Accessories from Ariane Prin. Above: A Spikkel Round Tray from De Intuitiefabriek in Amsterdam is 1,295 SEK at Artilleriet. Above: The Astier de Villatte Simple Platter is made at the brand’s Rue St. Honoré location in Paris. The smaller platter is 7.2 inches in diameter for $98 and the larger one is 8.2 inches diameter for $115 at ABC Carpet & Home. Above: Arizona-based Miro Chun of Miro Made This makes a Low Medium Serving Bowl that acts as a tray. The bowls are $87 and available in small batches. Contact Miro Made This for restocking information. For more, see our post Miro Made This: Architect-Designed Ceramics for Everyday Life. Above: Handmade in England, the Brickett Davda White Extra Large Tray is 17 inches in diameter and available at March for $325. Above: The Hasami Porcelain Bowl made of unglazed black porcelain measures 11 3/4 inches in diameter; currently on sale for $88.99 at Need Supply.
