Designed in 1953 by Arne Jacobsen, the iconic Dot Stool is back in production for the first time in decades. Fritz Hansen, the pioneering Danish furniture company, has reintroduced the Dot stool in five colors: white, black, orange, lime, or rose. The Dot Stool is 17.3 inches high with a chromed base; $279 at Suite New York.

While Mr. Jacobsen designed these in '53, Tony Paul claims design kudos as well.
Then there's the 3 stacking stools with bakelite tops I have in my garage, marked Thonet underneath, the Thonet stacking stool was designed in 1933, Alvar Aalto also claims this design, its the same as the above but in wood, not metal.
I'm so confused! Who's design is it?
Luckily, I am not so confused as not to run out to the garage and pull those stools back in the house, after all this research.
