In a historic mid-19th century Victorian house in Georgetown (formerly owned by Washington Post Editor Ben Bradlee), architect Lauren Wegel remodeled the interior with distinctly elegant and European-influenced style. Thanks to the new owners, a couple who moved to Washington DC from Istanbul, and before that, Berlin, the dining room plan was to open up the space and host large groups at a triple-length dining table. Below is a list of exact and similar resources to recreate the look.
Above: The light fixture is the West Elm Mobile Chandelier in Antique Bronze finished with standard size frosted bulbs; $369 for the 55-inch size. Above: Pairing two of the new Millie Cabinets in Drifted Oak Solid could potentially resemble the original cabinet built into the space; $3,399.15 at Burke Decor. Above: The sandstone-topped dining table is actually three joined tables that were made in Istanbul. For something similar, the Room & Board Linden Table, though much smaller, is available as a 72-inch-long size, shown with an ecru quartz top; $2,299. Above: The dining chairs are the Hoffmann Side Chairs in Natural Cane; $645 each at Design Within Reach.
