Confession: I’m not a big DIYer (unlike Alexa and Sarah, who are constantly dying dropcloths with hibiscus flowers or whipping up a batch of beet-dyed candles). But I can get onboard with this project discovered via Cakies. What’s involved? Nothing more than black card stock and a string of holiday lights (you’ve got a few stashed in your closet, no?). For the full tutorial, go to Cakies (Rubyellen will also show you how to make friendly ghosts using white card stock).

Above: Download the template on Cakies.

Above: Use a hole puncher to make the eyes.

Above: Voila, beady-eyed kitties, nice and minimalist (and not too scary).
