Founded in 2003 and based in NYC, Magdalena Keck Inc. is known for a conceptual, minimalist approach, characterized by the search of balanced resonance between inhabitant, space, and objects. The body of work includes bespoke residences, and conceptual, environmentally branded commercial projects.
The firm has gained a reputation for pied-à-terre apartments and weekend homes designed for an international clientele. Current residential projects include private residences at The Four Seasons Hotel and The Beekman as well as weekend homes in the Catskills. The residential work is the subject of a book published in 2017 by Glitterati titled Pied-à-Terre: Magdalena Keck written by professor of contemporary architecture Tiziana Proietti with a foreword by design editor Dan Haworth.
Current commercial work focuses on the development of a global workplace portfolio for a financial tech client. The firm’s design of the New York City office for the company Square was a finalist in the 2018 Dezeen international design competition and was one of only 5 U.S.-based projects in the Workspace Interiors category.
Keck was named Designer of the Day by Surface Magazine in Summer 2019 and her work has been featured in The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, Dezeen, and Architectural Digest among other publications.
