Shopper's Diary: Merci in Paris

Issue 13 · London Curiosities · April 3, 2009

With impeccable market timing, Marie-France Cohen, the founder of children's clothing line Bonpoint, has launched a new charitable retail concept. Housed in a former factory, the store is called Merci and stocks furniture, fashion items, and other pieces for the home donated by designers. Customers can fill their own bottles with perfume from Annick Goutal, or have a coffee in the used-book café; all profits from the venture go to a children's charity in Madagascar. Merci is located at 111 Boulevard Beaumarchais, Paris 75003. Photos via Flickr and Les Carnets du Design.
