The Hotel Brosundet sits on the old harborfront in Ålesund, a town on the west coast of Norway, and is situated in an old warehouse. The modern-meets-rustic interiors were designed by Oslo- and NY-based Snohetta Architecture, who pay homage to the building's history by leaving the exposed brick walls and rustic wood beams untouched. The modern elements, such as the custom white oak furniture and frosty modern bathrooms, were designed to both contrast and complement the the old construction.
