San Francisco architect Jennifer Weiss accumulated 18 years of design experience (Harvard Graduate School of Design, construction manager at Ryan Associates, associate at Skidmore, Owings & Merrill) before starting her own firm, J. Weiss Design. Her fresh, clean-lined kitchen and bar is the high point at this year’s San Francisco Decorator Showcase; we especially like the mid-centuryish Oval Dimensional Tiles from Sausalito-based Heath Ceramics used as a backsplash over the range and as a decorative band above the countertops. Does anyone know what the gray countertop material is? Perhaps polished concrete, maybe even steel?
Whatever it may be, it's has a very nice feel to it.

The counter tops look like their stainless steel to me. Are the cabinets painted wood or laminate?
