Another small scale (and small budget) Japanese wood house spotted on Dezeen: the Small Box House is built on the western hillside of Mt. Moiwa, overlooking the city of Sapporo. The architects designed the space to have a barnlike feel with separate living areas (the owners plan to open a cafe on the premises in the future). To see more of the firm's work, go to Akasaka Shinichiro Atelier.
