A sculptor best known for his portrait busts, Ivar Ålenius Björk (19051978) designed this elegant candlestick for the 1939 New York Worlds Fair. Evoking a stylized pair of parted leaves, it was part of a series of solid brass candlesticks he created for the Swedish manufacturer Ystad-Metall, which shuttered in 1969. Skultuna recently restarted production of the Lily in collaboration with the Björk estate.
