Description from Horne
The Bestlite design company has a long history of prestige, thanks to the partnership of industrial designer Robert Dudley Best and his family’s manufacturing firm – Best & Lloyd, founded in 1840. Best studied in Paris and Dusseldorf, where he drafted the first model of a Bauhaus-inspired lamp that was still foreign to the UK. But after a mention in Architects’ Journal, the lamp’s popularity grew. Once Winston Churchill placed a Bestlite lamp on his desk in Whitehall, the company gained everlasting fame.
The BL7 Wall Sconce combines the original Bauhaus inspiration with a modern, sleek design – perfect for above a favorite reading chair. Or, in an homage to Churchill, behind a desk. Charcoal Black shade and base plate with brass arm and fittings.
Accepts 1 x 40W E12 incandescent bulb. Hardwired.
